Nigerian Students Can Compete Anywhere in the World

SchoolTips&More met with Dr Mary Iyayi, the Managing Director and founder of Cayley College, Ikeja, Lagos; she shares insights on the past, present and future trends in education.

What comes to your mind when you think about your primary education?

What comes to my mind really is the importance of primary education in the life of a child because the primary school you go to is the background for what you do later. In the primary school, you are dealing with children that are very impressionable so whatever you say to them is accepted as the gospel truth. So if you are involved with primary education, you must be conscious of that. At that age, you hear the children tell even their parents, “That’s not what my teacher said.”

She’s Graceful, She’s Fun, She’s Supreme! Mrs. Nike Adamolekun

It took a long time but it finally happened. The SchoolTips team got to meet with the founder of Supreme Education Foundation, Mrs. Nike Adamolekun, an exciting woman of many parts. She shared with us how she changed from a tomboy into a graceful woman and many other thoughts on family, education, success, friendship and life generally.

Tell us what growing up was like

Growing up was a lot of fun. I am the second born of the family. I started at St. John’s Anglican Church Aroloya in Lagos here. Later my father moved us to our grandparents in Ekiti while he went to study abroad for one year.
